It will be a story of nationalism, of uniting the many to wage battle on the few.
I think that will at least be one of the main themes of the story I'm writing. From the perspective of the oppressed majority finally realizing their strength in numbers and using that knowledge to carry out genocide. With a twist, I hope. Unless I have gravely overrated my skills as a writer.
I was watching a rather dismal attempt at the British zombie comedy ("zombiedy"?) genre earlier tonight. But even if Doghouse left a lot to be wished for (and I mean a lot, it gave me a great idea for an entertaining movie, good for a couple of laughs. It wouldn't be a zombiedy, though.
I'm mentioning this because for a moment I was contemplating drawing up the basic plot of this (idea of a) story instead of continuing my work on the nationalism piece. There are always distractions, and sometimes they're not even spelled "Facebook" or "My Brute, but rather "new ideas".
Yeah, I could've done it after I'd worked on my current text (and I most likely will before I go to bed), but the point is that if I hadn't been so strong on principle (and I seldom am), I would've spent the entire evening with the new idea, forgetting temporarily the old one.
Story of my life. Letting new ideas replace the old even before I've finished exploring their possibilities. Maybe that's why I write articles on Lancefestivalen.se while a schmuck like Max Brooks is a celebrated author?
I'll go to bed now.
